Thank you to the citizens of Avon Lake for passing Issue #36, the Emergency Levy Renewal, to benefit the students of Avon Lake. The final tally was 7,855 "Yes" votes and 3,910 "No" votes. Thank you for supporting the Avon Lake City Schools!

We are pleased to announce the creation of the Avon Lake Alumni Association! The mission of the Avon Lake Alumni Association is to enhance and preserve the image, prestige and traditions of Avon Lake High School; to encourage unity, spirit, loyalty and cooperation between alumni and students of Avon Lake High School; to promote, support and publicize alumni and school activities and programs; to assist graduated classes in planning and organizing reunions, include maintaining an up-to-date alumni address file; and to work on those endeavors which will benefit Avon Lake High School and the school community. Congratulations to Learwood Middle School on being named a No Child Left Behind ~ Blue Ribbon School by the United States Department of Education! Only 320 schools in the United States were chosen for this honor which recognizes schools for "helping students achieve at very high levels and for making significant progress in closing the achievement gap". Registration Now Open for LEAPS Preschool, 2009-2010 School Year
Avon Lake City Schools is pleased to announce registration is now open for our LEAPS Integrated Preschool Program for the 2009-2010 school year. In addition to providing preschool services to children with disabilities, LEAPS incorporates preschool children who demonstrate age-appropriate overall development into its program.
